More than 400 people attended the Bo Pelini Foundation Celebrity Dinner at the Embassy Suites-LaVista on May 6, 2012. Emcee Matt Davison and Larry the Cable Guy entertained the guests and assisted with the live auction which included several Husker experience packages that simply are not available at any other auction. Head Coach Bo Pelini shared his vision for the foundation and provided exclusive insight on the Nebraska Football program. Every member of the Football Coaching staff also attended to mingle with dinner guests, former Husker football players and celebrities. The silent and live auction raised nearly $100,000 which will enable the Bo Pelini Foundation to assist many local charities this next year. The Bo Pelini Foundation supports nonprofit organizations dedicated to the fight against cancer and juvenile and adult diabetes. In addition, the BPF provides targeted financial assistance to programs which advance opportunities for disadvantaged children, particularly young people growing up in Nebraska. To date, the Bo Pelini Foundation has donated nearly $500,000 to charities that fit with the mission, including more than $200,000 to breast cancer research.
